Hello there again,
It’s good to know that people do actually read these, so I think I may keep this going. Well today, I don’t feel like talking about myself. I know it makes a change. I have mentioned in a few places that I’m a member of a writer’s site called UKA, well if you haven’t noticed then you haven’t read everything here! My plans are to write about a member from UKA here every Thursday. I not only want to shout about my own works, I enjoy shouting about other writers’ works too.
So, first up has got to be my script-writing partner James Hazlehurst. Well say hello to James… what are you like. He won’t bite.
Obviously James is a wanna be writer too, living in the UK and he’s a Wolverhampton Wanderers fan. God knows why, I still don’t understand that, I can’t stand football so lets move on.
I met James through UKA well over a year ago. He has written in many different genres, but mainly horror. We have never met and we have decided to write a horror script together via e-mails and msn. Handy this Internet stuff ain’t it. The script is coming along nicely.
One of my favourite short stories of his is Licked, a short story inspired by an Urban Legend. Sue is home alone; her only companion is her dog. Something horrifying has been happening in the neighbourhood.
‘A flash of lightening lit up the room and startled her, she spotted herself in the mirror looking back at herself and gave herself a fright. For a second she thought someone was standing there watching her…’
Bon Appetit by James, another gruesome horror story. Mary is sick and tired of being overweight, she comes across a phone number in her local newspaper and dials. She has no idea what is waiting for her.
‘She looked down at her stomach. It hung huge and saggy from her like a giant tumour. She hated it, she hated the way it felt and the way that it made her different from all the other women she knew.’
Alone And In The Dark by James. Have you ever drank that much you have passed out and you can’t remember a thing?
‘This is a nightmare. My eyes feel as though they are wide open, they don’t wanna flicker or look around, but they are open. The darkness is so black I can feel it. It’s like lying in a huge bath full of ink.’
Check out his website to find out more about him and to read more of his pieces here.
You can also find more of his works on my showcase page and my exclusive page.
While you’re there leave him a note in his guestbook.
That’s it for now.
Tatty Bye.
I’ll have a new writer for you next Thursday
